Graham goes Full Bulworth, IBM continues down the tubes, Edible Utensils, Birdie Sanders and My First Script

Quite the week my friends. Lots more coming. As some of you may/may not know, I've recently moved back to San Diego/Carlsbad/Encinitas, bought a house and as my fiance puts it: "well, now we *have* to get Married!" July 9th is the date and invitations should be out before then.

I'm on the road for the next 3 weeks: Chicago, Tualatin and Denver. One new teach this week in Chi - with my manager attending. Oh boy. I've gotten used to doing my first teaches over the web, where I can simply *read* my notes...but this is live - in person - so I actually have to learn this stuff. Not complaining at all.

Garden does well, for the most part, and we're finally settling in here at the house. I think my wife-2-be has finally taken the wrapping off all the pictures. I'm slowly taking video for the house tour - to be done and posted next month.
Starting to get my video chops back - recording a friends mammoth wedding in Hawaii next month.

Speaking of video, I'm volunteering time at the local Community Resource Center, where I've been asked to film a welcoming and on-boarding video for women entering the Domestic Abuse Shelter. Quite the project. Started my first script, and hopefully will begin filming next month. Biggest hurdles in writing the script were picking a font (courier) and format (Cohen bros' Big Lebowski script format as a model).

For this week's news we first have Lindsey Graham, who's either microdosing or has discovered the secret of Bulworth:  The Truth Works. Entertaining and refreshing to watch actually.

IBM continues its slide into oblivion. I thought we might see IBM actually go out of business in our lifetime, but my friend Dave M. had a better answer:
I think there will be so much plastic surgery and botox it will unrecognizable in our time.
The IP and patents are still valuable and the name probably can be bought to 'maintain its storied history and successes' for a young aggressive/agile management team (who ever buys them on fire sale) to give themselves the appearance of experience.
I think he's spot on.

Coolest thing this week is edible utensils.

Just saw this:  Amazing!  The Bird Knows.

Some funnies:
Calvin's approach reminds  me of US Govt. approach to encryption.

And, as part of his "epiphany" apparently someone explained the implications of encryption backdoors to Lindsey Graham.

“I was all with you until I actually started getting briefed by the people in the Intel Community,” Graham told Attorney General Loretta Lynch during an oversight hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I will say that I’m a person that’s been moved by the arguments about the precedent we set and the damage we might be doing to our own national security.”
Wow. No Shit.

Great News! I found where Mr. Fish hangs out on the web. One of my favorite political cartoonists.
Here's a sampling:

Some lighter humor: Donald Trump and Political Emojis

Newspapers remain fun:

Lou Reed might appreciate this (too obscure?)

Not sure what the complaint is

I could have sworn there was a spray for this

Honesty is refreshing

Well, that 'splains it all

All for now - gotta run and weed - more green-little-shitbags to pull up.
